Hello! I'm a third year medical student based in NYC. I'm passionate about storytelling, and the intersection between technology and humans. I'm currently working on research projects focused on AI and ML applications to medicine.
I graduated in 2021 from Brown University with a degree in Computational Neuroscience that I designed myself, and a BA in English.
I grew up all around the Midwest, but spent most of my time in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Previously, I worked for Brown University's AI Lab. I was also fortunate to work on turning Wonder into a broadway musical with Jill Furman. To explore how finances and healthcare interact, I spent a summer as an analayst at the University of Michigan Medicine's Financial Development Program. Another experience that has shaped me was my time working with the United Nations Girls Education Initiative where I tutored school girls in Rwanda, and worked on a collaborative STEM community project.
I've worked on projects involving many areas of Artificial Intelligence. I'm most interested in computer vision and natural language processing. I also have a passion for applying computer science for social change, and accessability in tech.
I'm an avid mixed martial artist, a huge tea enthuasiast, and really into writing fiction and poetry.
Applied computer vision skills to a dataset of beningn, malignant, and no tumor brain scans. Trained a convolutional neural net. Achieved greater than 96% accuracy.
Used a LSTM-based deep network architecture with a mechanism for evaluating the phonetic content of a generated rhyme. Later enhanced model with GPT-2. View some of the AI generated poems here.
Created an NLP based search engine for papers related to COVID-19. Used TF-IDF and inverted indices to organize our data, and then used Okapi BM25 to rank the dataset’s research paper relevance to any particular search query. Submitted for a Kaggle competition.
